Default Can aeroplan be redeemed for Park&Fly? also Star Alliance question

eeeks
park&fly for a week at YVR cost about 70 CAD

i have 15,000 aeroplan miles, can i redeem them for park&fly?

i know i can earn aeroplan with park and fly but i want to redeem since i dont use my miles much

also can my dad transfer his star alliance miles to my aeroplan miles?

transfers between different programs is not permitted. don't know if they still have it, but at one time, you can transfer miles between aeroplan accounts for a cost of $0.02/mile.

15K miles is enough for a round trip short haul Y ticket.

i guess ill have to pay for the tickets to LA and back

too bad i cant transfer points
my dad is in the 100k club of United
and he never needs to use it because company always pay for his flights

i dont want to go to calgary... bad memories...

check the rules of UA MP. he might be able to book the tickets in your name (on UA, AC, or any star alliance airline). the points do not have to be in your AP account.

boy... RFD is full of experts of all kinds

my gf need has enuf AP points to cash in for the flights
so im probably better off just booking the tickets with her

we do intend to fly together
