Default Buyer Beware: Notebook Outlet @ Pacific mall

After much frustration, I want to warn all laptop buyers to shop at your own RISK at NOTEBOOK OUTLET in Pacific mall . I bought an Acer laptop with warranty, this "Andrew" guy claimed that the warranty they are selling you covers full protection warranty such as physical damages at a standard warranty price $169.99. After I realize I got std warranty from Acer, I request "Notebook Outlet" to fix the problem. They insist that they didn't make a mistake and it's my problem and gave A LOT OF attitude, and ask me to pay another $100 to change it if I want it. Be careful as these people backfire on their words, even the store owner is not that dependable!

If you actually look around, Canada computers offer their Acer laptop customer at $129/$239 for 3 years std/full protection warranty, similar pricing to ACER website. You would think that warranty pricing are std option, WRONG, these Notebook Outlet guys make money on top of these options. I don't care if they make money as long as they provide good service, but NOTEBOOK OUTLET DOES NOT PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE!

There are other references to poor shopping experience from other RFDers about Notebook Outlet.

I didn't know they are that horrid until I look them up online!

They are fishy and full of attitude, advise your friends and family to shop with caution, I would say save the hassle and buy elsewhere even if you have to pay a little bit more. The laptop that I bought is legit, but I would question all the accessories or their $100 coupon that they were offering.

PLEASE REPLY TO GET THE WORD OUT! I don't want another buyer get screwed over and wasted their time to deal with all the unnecessary hassle!

Thumbs down terriable experience, buyer beware

Took 2 thinkpads to Pacific Mall Notebook Outlet for repair last week, T40 and T41. Both machines have the same problem, nothing shows up on screen as long as I don't disconnect the bios battery and main battery.

The guy from notebook outlet Est the problem and told me they can solve the problem by combining 2 machines parts, and it costs $100 + tax. I told him go ahead.

Today, I went there to pickup. They only returned me the older T40 (1.3ghz CPU with 512mb). I asked where's the T41 (1.6ghz with 1gb). They said they dumped it already since it's a garbage. Since my T41 has alot better condition more memory, keyboard, screen and case etc... I insisted to get it back and argued with them. They didn't even give me a shxt, asked me go ahead to search their garbage bin.

BUYER BEWARE, NEVER GO FOR NOTEBOOK OUTLET @ PACIFIC MALL IN MARKHAM ONTARIO

If you see this msg, please tell you friends and family. Notebook outlet deserve to go die asap.

Why would you go to Pacific Mall to buy or repair laptops in the first place? Everything there is sketchy.

I think the big letters should read:

NEVER GO TO PACIFIC MALL

Sorry man but, in my short experience with that place, it was a very foolish idea to go to Pacific Mall to begin with regardless of which store.

Better yet, don't get your computer/electronics repaired in sketchy no-name piece of crap stores.

Then we wonder why people get shot in the head at pacific mall.
That is downright rediculous.

Ummm extended warranty would help you when a business continues to thrive/exist when you require service down the line.

I wont be surprised if more than 80% of the shops in pacific mall keep changing from one business to another within months... not years

Did you request to have the dismantled notebook returned as well?

If not, perhaps you should have mentioned that prior to getting it fixed and not just assume that they will return it. It's one thing to have requested that both be returned upon completion and not getting it vs. not even mentioning it to begin with.

Well, Pacific Mall isn't that bad if you use your brain and some common sense.

If you possess common sense, you don't ask someone at Pacific Mall to look at your laptop, let alone hand it over to them.
