Gamecube for sure. RE4 is a great game and Mario kart is a lotta fun. If you buy the xbox and want multiplayer, you're gonna have to buy a subscription to xbox live

Definitely, definitely the GameCube; way more exclusives, and they are the best of any console (I am not counting PS2 exclusives that end up on PC).

I disagree.

I've found the Xbox a much better system.

So far MArio Sunshine is the only GC exclusive that I felt was a good game. The rest have all been letdowns. Zelda Wind Waker I thought was a huge let down, and was actually pretty boring. Mario Kart I thought was a step back as far as the series went. The tracks for the most part I found boring. Metroid even I didn't enjoy. I just couldn't take the lack of a 2nd analog stick for looking around. Just drove me mad having to hold a button down so that I could look around.

I've got to vote Nintendo as well. Just look at all the great titles they have. (And Carnage, so far Mario Sunshine is the game that has let me down - otherwise, I've found all the titles I've played so far to be great! ).

I have a PS2, an Xbox and a Gamecube...

and I run it all on a 52 inch

I must say.....Xbox is the way to gooooo...especially for online gaming.....but I guess nintendo would be better for the family......

but all-around I would have to say Xbox......(especially with halo2)

I agree. Get both as the GCN is pretty damn cheap these days and the Xbox isn't too pricey either.

Xbox - better graphics, better sound, Xbox Live, more M-rated and action titles.

GCN - some great exclusives which have a sense of "whimsical fun" when playing them that you can't find on other consoles, especially their multiplayer "family" type games. Also, GCN's graphics, while generally not quite to par as Xbox (Resident Evil 4 aside), are still pretty damn good and superior to PS2. The virtual lack of online play could be a major disadvantage if that concerns you.

I have both - I give my vote to the Gamecube - much better games - gets way more play. (love my wavebird controllers too) But Xbox is good too - basically only have it for online play which is very nice - though if you don't have time to play constantly its pretty hard to slide in with the experts.

Why would you say that the Xbox has better sound? I've got no complaints about surround sound (with supported titles, obviously) on the Gamecube. Most games support it, as well as 480p - looks great on the projector, and sounds great on the home theatre.

And not all games are whimsical fun either. There's more than enough "M" games for me (currently having a blast with X-Men Legends), and Mario Party 6 and Mario Kart get all kinds of play when the guys come over.

I have no complaint, really, against any current generation console for gaming. Essentially it comes down to the games, and I can see how any of the three could appeal to people. But when it came time to buy, I looked at the available titles for each console, and Nintendo had the most I knew I'd play. The list of "must-have" games that were exclusive to PS2 or Xbox (or to both but not GCN) was pitifully small. People have said the exact opposite. And yes, I will acknowledge Nintendo's sore lack of support for any kind of online play.

Take a look at what games you want, and get the console that supports the majority of them.

Dolby Digital 5.1 on the Xbox versus 2.0 on the Nintendo. Isn't it obvious?

I didn't say that all of the GCN titles had this, I said "some." And MP6 and MK are the very definition of whimsical fun. You do realize this is a good thing, right? I love those games.

Another vote for Gamecube (unless you're gonna hack your Xbox then for sure, Xbox gets my vote). Has way better exclusives and Xbox titles somehow end up on the PC eventually.
