That guy is always a pain. He negotiates a deal and you think everything is good, then when you get to payment he always has some stupid way of getting money to you. He has tried to get 6-7 items off me now and I have not sold him one because of this.

As for everyone else, do not ship first.

Well, here's the story. I sold a CPU to Bushido. Since i was a new member and didnt have any heatware refs, he told me to ship the item first. Wasnt sure at first but I checked his refs and it seemed fine. So i shipped the item via ExpressPost 2 weeks ago, he received the item monday the 19th. I sent him a PM to ask him to pay me. After that, he told me he would pay me on friday when he'll get his pay. But nada money has been transfered to my account friday. Tried to contact him several times after that but he never responds and he hasn't come on the forum since saturday. What should i do now?

I sold him a video card, but it was shipped COD.

ie: He gave Canada Post the cash and they sent me a Postal Money Order

Try to chill out and give him until the end of the weekend to respond or
come through with payment.

I doubt he'll screw you as you shipped via Expresspost and nobody wants to
to deal with a mail fraud claim with Canada Post. Too bad Canadian postal
inspectors don't carry guns like their American counterparts.

I would never in a million years ship something off before being paid........

Well, being a newbie and all, I personally think the # of posts and heatware are way overrated. I only have eBay feedbacks, I only do local trades, and yes sometimes for a lot of money. And the most important thing is that I never had a problem with any deals I made.

What I really appreciate about RFD is the advice I get from other members. It saved me from a bad trade once. And in many occasions people with a big # of posts have been the subject of complaints and sometimes worse.

A newbie versus a veteran trader doesnot mean you ship something with zero gurantee. That doesn't seem to follow common sense to me.

Ok, let flaming start.

If you paid for tracking you may have been able to have the parcel held, but once it's delivered you are out of luck.

The only thing you can do is to start looking for people that live close to him. Maybe they are willing to pay him a visit to get your money or your CPU back.

+1

ebay / heatware is just a source of reference, but aren't always accurate. post count isn't always accurate as well, just because a person has a high post count doesn't mean they're always good traders. newbies with low post counts could have done a lot of deals before-hand as well, and in some cases they are probably better traders than some people who have high post counts and good ebay / heatware. i kno of people who get their friends to post fake heatware for them all the time, so sometimes it can be conceiving.

it's mostly a rule of thumb that the "newbie" ships first, or whoever has the most references ships first, but like bm_attar said, isn't really fair that the newbie has zero guarantee.

>>> I've seen people make 500 worthless posts within a few days on
here. Means nothing.......

>>> That may be changing. If you go through the threads you'll find some
good apples that have gone bad. Not worth rolling the dice. Be patient and
a local buyer will eventually come along.
