BB/FS seems to keep opening earlier and ealier.

How about Staples and TRS too?

Where will you go first?

Thesource.com: Dec 24th, 6pm
BB BM: 6AM

It sucks that Futureshop doesn't have free shipping anymore

i'd imagine that b/c of this, FS/BB would have much less sales than last yr's boxing day/wk sales.... (at least f/ the RFD community)

it's too bad...

now let's all hope that they don't jack up s/h charges on boxing day/wk -_-

I dont think they will do instore pickup for boxing bay items. If they do that, online people will clear out all a stores stock on hot items before the store even opens. When choosing instore pickup the items arre not shipped to the store; the items come from the stores stock

You can do instore pickup for online orders. Whenever you order online the items are shipped directly from the warehouse, so the stores stock is untouched.

That is not how it works. The items are not shipped to the store. They come from the stores stock

i'm still unsure what you're talkin' about...

the current ISPU option is order online, and once the stores have found stock and reserved your item(s), an email will be sent to you asking you to go p/u your items.

that stock comes f/ the store's inventory.

Last year on boxing day, the web site stated in-store pickup was not available until January. If pick up option was available for boxing day, all the door crashes would be sold out before the doors open, thus defeating the purpose of lining up.

err... IINM, the ISPU option was a new thing that started this yr.... there was no such thing as ISPU last boxing day or before that...

EDIT: here's the thread which i believe is the 1st time that FS started the ISPU option, which started around the end of Jan.

but it's still true that if everything could be done as ISPU "in advance", there's no point in the boxing day line-ups....

I have to diagree with you because instore pickup was a available in select Future Shop and Best Buy stores in late fall of 2005. In was not a national storewide policy until January, 2006. In other words, they were testing it in some stores before bringing it to all stores. I'm 100% sure the website said store pickup (where available) will not be available until January.
