Default Best prepaid cell plan for a 14 &12 year old student (very low usage)

Best prepaid cell plan for a 14 &12 year old student (very low usage)

I would like to gat a prepaid cell phone for my 2 kids. It will mostly be for emergency use only. Just need to contact them occasionally to make sure they got to school/home safely, and also make sure they are ok when going out with friends.

What is the best plan/company for this type of use? I would like to get one with the longest expiry date so that I my kids don’t have to remember filling up the account every month.

Thanks.

Probably the 7-Eleven stores cell phone program - Speakout. Phones are available instore with pre-activated numbers so they are ready to go out of the box. Local calls are 20c/minute, and all pre-paid coupons loaded to the phone last for one year. They will deduct $1.00/month from your balance for basically a system access fee, otherwise no usage- no charges. No special promo programs at the moment, but they do run a "free phone" with the purchase of at $100 voucher several times a year........
