Default Best online method to show off kids pictures to friends, family

What's the best way to show pictures to friends and family? I have picassa and photoshop elements. With my DSLR, I am looking for something to easily unload the pics from my camera, do some minor editing and then post it. Ideally, if this can be done within one software, that would be great...

What are you parents doing?

Secondly, anyone doing the 'shot a day' - and no, i don't mean alcohol!!! I mean taking one picture a day of your kid...

The wife uses "shutterfly". It does this nice slideshow thing, and doesn't seem to inundate you with advertising.

I use photobucket and p/w protect it

I have also used Google photos, but their storage limits are high.

Many also use picturetrail.

If you are sharing via Messenger, I LOVE Hello!

I use www.smugmug.com, which is a pay site dedicated to sharing pictures. It's around $45/yr but the service is good. There are no ads, or storage or bandwidth limits.

Smugmug +1
That's what I use to share my photos.

I password protect the people photos (90% of all my pictures) just to maintain some privacy. Family loves it.
The cool thing with smugmug is that if a family member really likes a photo you posted of your child (or any other), he can order a print directly from the website.

It's tiny if you're uploading 10 megapixel pics, but there's no need for that. Resize them to 1024x768 and they're just as good for viewing online. At about 100kB each, you can store 10,000 pics in a 1GB account....that's more than any family or friends would want to see.

Is there a software that can do all of this at once:
- edit
- resize
- upload to site
- create file system online and locally

Picasa can do all of that, I think.

Agreed, nothing I hate more than the enormous pics my family members always send after events. I didn't really NEED a 7MB image file of Uncle Cletus falling over drunk again.

I use Photo Cleaner Pro to batch process images. It sharpens, adjusts brightness, automatically rotates and puts borders on the pictures. It can also save to any format but I stick with 100% jpg.

After that, I upload the pics to my own website which I use Gallery 2. This way, I'm not using a well known site where anyone can browse at. Not many people know nor care about my site so only family and friends will most likely visit.

I do have a flickr subscription but that's only for other types of pictures.

JAlbum does it all but automatic uploading. It creates local directory structure with correct URLs and all, then you can use IE to FTP it to web space of your choice. Or use Picasa with picasaweb
