Does anyone know which company's gas is best for your car?
edit: maybe i should be more specific, like taking in account the sulfur levels, the additives the companies add, etc.. Last edited by Agent_J; Feb 22nd, 2005 at 02:49 AM.. |

and I thought I was crazy about my car, lol
just make sure you don't use the proper type for YOUR car, i.e. if it uses octaine 91 dont feed it 87... u probably shouldnt worry about anything else unless u plan to drive the same car for 10 years... than maybe it will make a difference. |

It's all the same. From the same supplier basically. Oh, and putting higher grade gas into a lower grade car wont make it any faster. You'll just burn more money, and maybe some HP on your butt dyno from the placebo effect. Higher grade fuel is just more combustion resistant, for force fed or high compression cars.

Just like underwear, cars are wear & tear items. I don't see ppl asking what brand of detergent is best for their underwear. As for cars, after a certain mileage, I either throw it out, give it away, or sell it.
So, the best gas for me is the cheapest one and one that'll keep my car running until 200K KM (and all of them do). |

A number of techs have stated, pl who use Sunoco Gas are unlikely to have a costly fuel injector cleaning ~250,000 clicks and in general have fewer injector problems.
Most pl that know... buy Sunoco. |

I (and all other DSM owners) ONLY ran/run Sunoco Ultra 94 or Pioneer 93 (renamed Sunoco supplied 94) when I had my modified turbo Talon. 12 cents on top of regular gas prices. Was at the Sunoco the other day (full service) and noticed 94 was 17 cents above regular. Holy $&^#*! Miss the power but so glad I'm driving a TDI now.

Sunoco has tradinionally had the lowest sulphur content in Ontario..it varies by province due to local regulations.
I actually notice the difference in drivability between Sunoco (good) and Petro-Can Winter gas (bad--uneven revs at startup) at the same octane level in my 01 Protege 2.0l.

Cheveron 94 Octane
, but seriously 91/92 Octane does end up being cheaper for you in the long run. It makes a difference as long as you dont drive a 15 to 20 year old crapbox or Stop and Brake every 2 seconds.
