Default Asus 1005HA-V White & Blue, Toys R Us $309.99

Hi everyone,

Didn't see this posted but I thought I'd get it out there - Asus 1005HA - V model (not sure which one, but probably 4.8hr battery life one) from Toys R Us for $309.99 - one of the cheapest places I've seen. They have the white one and the blue one in stock. Both have 1.6GHz N270, 160GB HD, 802.11n and all of the other usual netbook stats - res on screen I think is the 1024x600.

Not sure if the 10% coupon that was floating around still works or not, but the price is already one of the lowest I've seen:

If the link doesn't work for some reason it is in the Video Games section of the web site.

Actually, it doesn't say which battery it is, and if it's the 6 cell, then this is actually quite hot.

Thanks for the info.

a) The 10$ off coupon TPNOV10 still seems to work.

b) According to Asus's website, a 1005HA with a weight of 2.42lb (1.1kg) comes with a 3 cells battery. Too bad! A 6 cell at 299, I would have gone for it.

c) Hey, nice netbook. Where did you buy it? Toys r us

Thanks again!

TRU's definitely the 3cell, any web listing with the 6cell has it at 2.8lbs or higher.
It's very convenient to hold real time 8h charges, plugging it in once or twice a week vs every other day (depending on usage of course), might not matter to some.

Mainly battery life.
As far as I know, the diffs are...
E=4 hour battery life, N270 CPU
V=8.5 hour battery life, N270 CPU
P=10.5 hour battery life, N280 CPU, Bluetooth, WiFi N

Well the topic says "V" but even the Op says it's probably the 4 hour life one... WHICH IS IT MAN! lol

I think he got the E and the V mixed up... the only differentiating spec listed in the description is the weight, which matches up with the weight of the E version.

I wonder why retailers neglect to add the number of cells in the specifications. Buy, get a 3-cell, be disappointed, return to store, store sells open box item. LIST THE DAMN SPECS PLEASE!

Their best spec is "Ages 6-8", or something like that. Hopefully they won't sell well so there will be some great deals after Christmas!
