I haven't tried them... but the distributor I know that is pushing them here in B.C. is VERY well known for selling the lowest quality crap he can get his hands on (he sells to A&B Sound, all their generic Promedia crap too). So I don't personally have high expectations. But this is not based on any experiences with the media, so it may actually be fine.

I bought a 25-pack of the 4x dvd-r from the new Canada Computers near Yonge/Finch for $7.99 at their grand opening. According to Smartburn, the media id was Gigastorage.
Worked fine at 4x on my LiteOn 812s.
Hope this helps.

Ugh...
Best Buy is now pushing these too...
It's great that media prices are dropping like a rock. Unfortunetly so is the quality...

Geez... I *SAID* that this was going to happen didn't I?
Everyone wants the cheapest crap they can get. Look at all the people scrambling to pick up those $0.20 DVD-Rs when they go on sale in the hot deals section. It doesn't matter if 3/4 of the media doesn't burn properly, and the other 1/4 fails within a year... it's still a "good deal" right?
