Hi - I'm in the States a lot and there seems to be some decent deals on GPS's in the US. My question is that if I buy one from the US, does it include Canadian maps? One of the units is this: http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-780-Widescreen-Bluetooth-Navigator/dp/tech-data/B0011UEUNG/ref=de_a_smtd
The reason I asked is that it says the following two things:
GPS navigator preloaded with City Navigator North America NT
Maps Included: United States
Don't they contradict one another?
I know this might be a silly question, but I'm hoping to get some answers here.

The City Navigator North America NT is including Canada.

Some lower cost GPS units only have US maps, no Canada coverage.
Watch out for Garmin models ending with 2 zeros such as Nuvi 200, 1200 and 1300. They only cover the lower 48 states. They don't have enough on board memory to handle a complete North America map, even if you wanted to add this at a later date.

Is this just for the ones ending in 00 or does it cover the whole series eg. 12xx, 13xx? Any idea what the amount of memory is in a 1390T or where does one find out how much memory is in a Garmin GPS?

See:

If the model ends with a "00" or "05", chances are that it only has US maps or "preloaded street maps for lower 48 states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico"

The 780 is a rather advance unit so I would be shocked if it doesn't come loaded with Canada maps. Note that 780 is an old model that is replaced by 785 now. Also I highly doubt Amazon.com ships to Canada for this item.

Also watch out for units that mention U.S. or Canada "major roads". That's an abbreviation for a low-res map that shows only major highways for the whole country.
