When booking a vacation package (hotel + flight) online or through a travel agent for two people sharing a room, does it not make more sense for only one person to book the package, and the other to book flight alone?

Example, if I were to book online for a vacation package, it tells me that it will cost $2000 per person for flight and 7 days stay at the hotel. $4000 total.

If my girlfriend and I were to book separately, the cost would still be $2000 each, however we would each have our own separate rooms at the hotel.

Can we not just book one package deal and a separate flight?

Thanks

Prices listed are based on double occupancy. If you're purchasing the package for only one person, the price will increase, sometimes significantly.

And if you and your girlfriend want your own rooms on a vacation, then perhaps you need to re-evaluate your relationship.

Look for hotels that have no "single supplement".
