Yes, I am ashamed to admit it - but I have never really been to Niagara Falls (i've passed by it to get to the other side of the border, but never really explored what there is to offer there).
In any case, I'm taking my gf out for a weekend to Niagara Falls, and was wondering what dining places and other driveable/walkable places can I take her around there?
What are the key places to MUST see and check out / dine at? Any hotels that are decently priced and nice?
I appreciate your advice guys! Thanks again!

There's a hotel like half a KM from the falls that has a heart shaped jacuzzi suite. Get that room for a night and your GF will really "thank you."
This is it right here

Niagara Falls the town is an eyesore. The falls themselves are great. I suggest staying in Niagara on the Lake and making a day trip to see the falls. N on the L is wonderful, and romantic. The town of NF will disappoint you.

The festival of Lights is on now. Take her skating at the new Rink By the Brink. It's a refridgerated skating rink at the brink of the Falls by Tablerock.

+1 Clifton Hills is very cheesy/tacky. Though it is nice to stay there if you get a room with a view of the Falls.

Get a players club membership at Casino Niagara and you get free parking when you go there.
I usually go a few times a year to spend the day walking around, we usually only spend about an hour at the casino. Then walk around.
Check out Lundy's Lane for some shopping.
Go for a ride on the SkyWheel, it's pretty cool.

you have to play a bit though to get the free parking...so if you weren`t gonna gamble be prepared to lose at least the cost of the parking :-P

Where is this?
Right down by the Falls by the new Tablerock complex/Victoria Park. It's brand new for this year. The hopes are that this will eventually be as well known as some of the other great, iconic outdoor skating rinks.

sorry to jump in but between the Embassy and Courtyard Marriott, which hotel do you think is better? Embassy has a deal going on now (from Travelzoo.ca website this week) and Courtyard Marriott has a deal 2 weeks ago.....but maybe still available.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have been to both, both are good, breakfast @ the Marriot was abit better. Park @ the Marriott and tell them it's parked @ the Casino to save a few $$$. If you're @ the Embassy you can park @ the casino and don't have to pay if you show abit of activity on your players card. View from the Keg @ the Embassy is awesome. Can't go wrong with either. I upgraded to a jacuzzi room @ the Marriott and it was very nice when I checked in.

i think at casino niagara you can do this..not gamble and get free parking. it's fallsview that you actually have to gamble a bit otherwise ur paying for parking.

Thanks realestateguy for your input....but can you see the falls from Courtyard by Marriott? Their location doesn't seem to be very near the falls......

We really need to merge all the Niagara Falls threads and sticky them.
Along with Montreal, NYC and London.

No I don't think they would have fallsview rooms here. It's still close to the falls.....like a 5 minute walk along Victoria Ave, and down Clifton Hill.

so we finally got a room @ the Embassy....:) how far is Casino Niagara from the Embassy? I think the Fallsview is nearer but someone said that you actually have to play to get the free parking. Hmm, does anybody know how much you have to play?
