With a quick scan here is what I know is outdated from that article..

CHANGED:

- Citibank Driver's Edge Mastercard is now annual fee, so should be removed

- No-fee BMO Shell Airmiles card is now 1/20 which puts it at the same level as the Amex Airmiles card, except it also has extended warranty and purchase protection (and accepted more widely) and earns bonus miles at Shell, and car rental discounts - so it is better.

REMOVED:

- MBNA Starwood Preferred Guest card is discontinued

NEW / MISSING

- Should probably add Canadian Tire Gas Advantage

- Should probably add no-fee BMO Shell Cashback card. It is only 0.5%, but you get back 1.5% at Shell.

- MBNA Smartcash

You could probably add curve though it's not a good card

Agreed. I'm not going to, nor will I add any of CT's other crappy new cards.

Isn't it the same thing as the CT Cash Advantage? If yes, I agree it's not interesting.

IMHO, the only good CT card is the original Options Master Card.

If you buy gas a lot because you commute or something, and don't want to bother with the GCR shuffle trick, then the gas advantage card is actually very good.

IE - say you have a reasonable average of $750 in regular spending and a commuter-esque of $250 in gas spending every month, and say gas is $1 / litre.

You will save 8 cents / litre on $250, so you saved $20 out of $1000, or 2% out of the total spent. That is pretty good for no effort at all. If you spend a lot at Canadian Tire your % return grows.
