Hi folks.
I was wondering, where could get a handyman that can install 4-5 doors in my condo. To drill holes for the latches and to install the doors on the hinges exactly. And how much it would cost approximately.
Thanks

I am looking for someone to do the same. I need 96" high doors and would prefer 4 hinges.

Door casing and frame is already there. just need a smalle piece of moulding added into the middle of the frame for the door.

milling a door to match an existing frame is harder than putting a new pre-hung in place. also, putting 4 hinges on a door is a waste of time, unless your door weights 300lbs, it isnt gonna fall off.

I have 3 doors, 80X32 and 2 doors 80X24. They will stand on the existing hinges, two per door. The door casings are metal and are embedded in the wall, so there's no way I would replace them.I need doors only. I could try to install the latches, I can get a pattern, but have no experience, and I don't want to screw up a door.

If you have the ability to get the doors to your house many of the lumber yards offer the service if drilling the holes/mortising the hinges for you. I think in Edmonton Windsor plywood charges $100-120 for this service when you purchase any door.

It's an alternative that might work for you, since the installation of the door isn't the hard part it's the wood work that is.

Is your building an older one with plaster walls sounds like it to me with the metal frames embedded in the wall.
It takes a little more time to retrofit a door to an old frame because the old frames will shift out of square over time and after you place the hinges you have to trim or plane the door to fit the orginal frame it takes a few hours per door sometimes.
Depending on your location in TO I may able to help you e-mail me at:
