I just got a new laptop and I want to maintain the battery to the max potential unlike my current laptop which has a 10 min battery life.

I've been reading up and the general consensus is to deep cycle (drain then recharge) the battery for the first three cycles, is this correct?

Li-ion batteries don't have a memory effect, so what's the best methodology to maintain the capacity? Recharge often, or when around 20-30% approx?

TIA

Here's what I do:

When the battery is new
-Drain battery to around 10% and then fully recharge
-Do the above three times
-Drain the battery down to 40%, take it out and put it somewhere cool

After the above has been completed
-About once every month I drain down to 10%, recharge, then drain to 40%
-Remove it and store it somewhere cool

Whenever I use the battery it lasts about the same length as it did when it was new, even 3 years later.
