Does anyone know if a 52" LCD TV inside it's original package would fit into a honda crv?

Boxes from different manufacturers come in different sizes. Can't you just measure the box specs and then measure the trunk of the CRV?

I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with it because I was thinking about asking a distant relative to help me pick it up (some one with a 2003 CRV) but I didn't want to bother approaching them without having a rough estimate of whether it would fit or not :)

Maybe you should think outside the box, and if it doesn't fit while inside the box, then surely it'll fit without the box....

you got the size of the package, why don't you go measure your relative's trunk?
I recently bought a 40" and it fit nicely in my gti with the rear seats folded flat.

But seriously, just go get your grandma to go measure her crv buddy.

I have the first gen CR-V and it would fit, so 2nd gen shouldn't be a problem. At the worst case, you can alway take the box away or place the box in the space between the front and back seats or laid it flat with the back seats down.

I bought a Sony 52" Bravia LCD TV and it didn't fit the Corolla, so we unbox the TV and put it into the trunk with both of the seats down. The leftover box scraps, we just threw it to the back of the car. Everything worked well.

Good to know that I'm not the only one to read it as this initially. ;)

Transporting a flatscreen TV is like moving a plane of glass, there is plenty of discussion on AVSforum. It's best to keep it upright and in its packaging that will absorb some bumps. If you have to lay it on it's side, it's at your own risk and you should have the screen facing up. Out of the box is not recommended.
When you set it up, connect a laptop to it and do a software dead pixel test.

I didn't have a car when I bought my 42" flat panel TV a few years ago. Anyways, I bought locally (about 1/2 mile away) and had it delivered for free.

We used a 2008 CR-V EX-L to transport a brand new in the box 52" Sony W series LCD from Future Shop earlier this year. Unfortunately we could not get the tailgate to close as we had three people in the car, but if we had only two I'm sure it would've closed no problem. We ended up using some nylon rope to tie the hatch as tight as possible and I'd say it only needed another 4 inches to close.

I posted before, but delete cause I wasn't too sure.
Yeah, we did fit 52' with box into a cvr. It should only be you and the driver and the front seat pushed up.

I'm sorry but this is too funny! LOL
Anyways, I fit a 52 inch LCD TV with the box in my Mazda 3 Hatchback. However, it was laid down on the floor as opposed to standing up. I had to return the TV because it was defective. After that, I picked up the new one about a month later in a minivan.

the real question is how will you get it up to your condon. ;)
i fit a 50plasma in my forrester... it wasn't standing 100% upright but enough to be safe. Might be a tight fit or you might have to unbox it. bring lots of soft blankets and pillows. -sg

pretty easy.
You can fit a lot of stuff into a car like that with the seat folded down.
