I saw deal on Vit C in Shopper Drug Mart, but those expire in Feb 10.
I wonder if these are the same. Stale Vit C should not be too bad.

I finished off that same brand well over 2 years past expire date. I'm sure it's fine.

Expired vitamins won't hurt you. The expiry date is there as a guarantee of the content of the vitamin C matches the label. After the expiry date, you just might not be getting the same amount of the vitamin as over time I suppose it breaks down.

Entropy!

It doesn't. I never really looked at it before I bought the vitamins. Only after getting home I realized it.

I'm going to rule out the Vancouver one...the photo doesn't look like the one on Grandview (although I may swing by there today to see if they have it). My guess is the one in Lougheed Mall (or could be the New West one as well)

I've seen them for $2 here in Ontario too. Is it the coupon that is only valid in Vancouver?

Probably is, but I would look at the coupon if I were you. You never know.

Vit C tablets are a joke. You can get 100% of your daily required vit C in 1 glass of orange juice, and most brands of applejuice. And your body absorbs it much better than these or other vitamin tablets.

Ever wonder why your pee is such a bright yellow after you start taking vitamins? It's you peeing much of the vitamins out.

Vitamins should only be for people who really need them because nutritionally they can't get them in their daily diet- like the elderly. Too many people think vitamins are simple substitution for all the unhealthy empty calorie crap they eat all day. If you have trouble getting close to your daily intake of Vit C, you probably need to adjust your diet.

*sigh*
Rant complete.

What an ignorant statement to make!!! Most people can certainly benefit from supplementing their diets with an additional gram of vitamin C daily, especially during cold and flu season. If I start to feel a cold coming on, I will take even more vitamin C to boost my immune system and help my body fight it off. It is a much cheaper alternative to other methods (eg. ColdFX).

If you don't believe me, ask any ND.

Actually I saw lots of expired stuff in Shoppers Drug Mart. Vitamin may not hurt, but I saw other stuff like milk, peanut butter, etc, that were expired and they didn't take them off the shelves. So be sure to check them out before you pay.

So it's really silly to have an expiry date on natural health products, but that is due to stricter regulations that came into play in 2004. In most cases, such as these vitamin c tablets, the expiry date is not relevant, and put there to meet guidelines, using these past the date is fine. With that said, don't over supplement on vitamin c, unless being instructed to by your physician.

Hopefully. However there is no scientific evidence that shows vitamin c as preventing the common cold or the flu in large samples, so don't waste your money unless you need the supplement. With that being said, if you find regular usage helps prevent colds and flus for you, then don't stop!!!!

I am glad you find it works for you, however there is no reputable scientific evidence to say that vitamin c and cold fx for that matter are good prevention and treatment methods for colds and flu. Vitamin c does tend to decrease the duration of a cold, however you wouldn't notice this unless you were an extreme athlete in extreme environments. High doses of vitamin c can lead to a number of issues, including diarrhea, gastritis, and kidney stones. Ginseng, the active ingredient in ColdFX has been shown to assist in prevention (albeit barely), but does nothing for treatment after acquiring a cold or flu.

With that being said, don't just supplement on vitamin c, speak to you physician first, whether MD or ND.
