I know there is a few but of course I don't know what one to get how well it plays but a human person on these forums hehe.

So anyone here have one for the ps3 or I guess the 360 if it works for both. I would love to hear your opinion and was it worth it?

Curious about this too.. do these converters support DPI on-the-fly? Drivers? Or is it full-functionality plug-n-play?

There like full functional as far as I know plug n play. It's just like a modded game controller for example so the PS3 thinks ur still using a normal controller as far as I know.

try xcm.cc...they have a few great devices you can research...they even have a device that lets you use an Xbox 360 controller (wired) on a PS3!

I had an older wireless microsoft keyboard/mouse combo in the closet. I plugged the wireless reciever (via USB) into the ps3 and the keyboard/mouse worked instantaneously.

I didn't need an adapter, or to do anything special.

I own a 360 and a PS3, and I'll give Sony props for not being cheap like MS when it comes to locking out 3rd party devices.

I was really interested in getting one of these things, I found the 360 controller to be more comfortable than the PS3 for FPS but these converters are pricey, almost the same price as a controller itself, I would love to bite if there was a inexpensive option.

Is the goal of the keyboard/mouse to play video games as well? I'm not sure if that would work (that'd be nice though!).

keyboard and mouse is more accurate than the joystick thus people complain but all in all it has no factor on a console.

Look at it this way, everyone is using the same controller to play the same game. There are no disadvantages or advantages in this setup. If you can't use the controller, your just not good enough at games or you haven't played games in the last 10-15 years. Its a fair playing field for everyone especially in FPS (and its safe to assume those looking to purchase one want to use it for MW2) if your using a controller.

Those are the typical limitations of a console, 'fair playing field'.. If I go and spend $200 on a mouse and keyboard, I deserve the advantage of having adjustable DPI on-the-fly and a few macro keys. I have played FPS games with a controller and while I maintain an easy 1:1 kdr, it's frustrating as heck not being able to live up to the skill I possess. The $200 I spent on gear allows me to maintain the 18:1 kdr that I am capable of. Being able to snipe at 400dpi then switching to 4000dpi so I can jump in a tank and spin the turret like a helicopter is exactly why I stay away from consoles for FPS. :arrowl:

Yeah I know what you mean...you'll spend around $40 for a wired controller, then another $60-$70 for the device itself...you're looking at over $100 for a wired controller solution, which isn't really ideal. I'll just keep hoping for a wireless solution, or an Xbox 360 chassis compatible with the PS3 :)

thats why I'm saying its a fair playing field.

everyone is playing with the same controller. Therefore those with better skills in utilizing that controller will play better. everyone can point and click these days anyways. Using a controller is a different skill set from mouse/kb combo. Therefore its just your controller (ps3/360) skills are seriously lacking in comparison to your skills with a mouse/kb and your kdr shows that.

Right, my skills DO lack with a controller, no doubt. I hardly understand how, if you know a bogey is on your six but can't turn around fast enough to kill him, how does that 'complement' your skills? Your statement about everyone can point and click is flagrantly FALSE. The whole point of FPS is a cross between reaction times and field awareness. If I am limited by movement, eventhough my field awareness is spot on, the game just isn't worth playing IMHO. In that situation it always becomes a case of "dammit I should have got that guy".. If I see the enemy he should die, and for that a player requires hardware that can support that. Having a weak DPI joystick is just unfair to EVERYONE. In the end the main argument is LIMITATION. There is NONE with kb/mouse ;) I get what you're saying about fair playing field, but at what cost? So everyone should "mildly suck" instead of people playing to the best of their abilities? Riiiiiight.

it's a matter of timing... if someone sees you and starts shooting at you first then you'll die... it is an even playing field

you won't find it for cheap thats the problem.

and in response to the other dude, even after all those limitations there are still people with high kdr.

Can you adjust it on the fly? I really have no idea about that as I don't play consoles for FPS..
