Both these vendors are in Ontario only.
This is the more common and well known LG 720p plasma. With extra features over the PQ12 selling at the same price at FS.
PM this at Sears, Visions etc., if possible.

Gibby's price expires 11/12.

2001 has this in their newspaper ads in the Toronto Sun and Toronto Star, it should be available all week.

I think Futureshop is keeping the LG 42PQ12 @ 699$ from now on, might also be an option if people aren't close to a Gibbys or 2001

I have the PQ series Plasma TV for almost a year. It is rock solid and the price is reasonable.

True. Picture quality seems identical. If you don't need a PC input, or other the extra inputs of the PQ30, the PQ12 is a great option. Plus Future Shop is extending price protection and returns until Jan.3rd, so it might end up being even cheaper, since the price is likely to drop sometime by the end of the season.
BTW the 42PQ30 was sold at BB for most of the year, they are replacing it with the 42PQ12. There could be a few units left in the stores here and there, for a PM.

Thanks for the feedback.

BTW Costco has their version of the PQ30, the 42/50PQ20 now at $719/$909 online, and I assume $699/$899 in store. The PQ20 has all the same features as the PQ30. 90 day return and 2 year warranty too.

Oh sorry.. not Gibby's

AV2001

I went to 2001 today.
The price was $899 even though the website says $699.
The salesman offered me $750. Huh.. I'd rather buy from Costco for $710.
I am not sure whether 2001 is a reliable retailer.

2001 has the 42PQ30 back at $695 in their new ad in the Toronto Papers.
Sun, Star, and 24.

Gibby's has their price back at $699 until 11/15 too.

They told me yesterday at 2001 that their newspaper ad prices are only valid for the weekend, although they don't have an expiry date in the ads. Kind of incompetent if you ask me.

BTW East Hamilton Radio (Hamilton, ON) also has this display at $688 for the weekend, in their flyers.

I bought 42PG30 from Sears.ca and tried to price-match it with east hamilton radio's price. I chose one of sears pick-up stores. The website did not have any information about the store so I thought it was a sears departmentstore. However, it turned out a really small convenience store. The owner does not know anything about the price match nor even how to return the product. He even refused to talk to one of Sears customer service. Furthermore, one of Sears customer service agent kept saying "We don't price match someone's website." I even read their policy for her but she just refused to listen to me. After 3 hour struggle, I ended up sending a fax to sears customer service to apply for price match. I really don't think I will use Sears.ca any more. It was and is a nightmare.

Sounds frustrating. I know others have gotten a PM at Sears without this much trouble, but they did it, in person, at a regular store. I think they still have these Catalog outlets around, but they are for little more than order drop offs and pick ups. Hope it works out.
