looking for heating upgrade options

I've got electric baseboard heat. I've previously posted saying that I'm considering a ductless heat pump system.

Before I take the plunge, I'm looking for other options, if there are any.

solar? too expensive, i think
complete retrofit to add ductwork? way too expensive

Am I missing anything?

I have about a 10k budget.

you'd be better off keeping the baseboard heating and upgrade your homes insulation, windows and doors if they are inefficient. Invest in programmable thermostats if you don't have them already
