Search. There's been a thread or two about them already. Typically it's a rip off. You're getting a car in totally "as-is" condition (there will still be garbage, etc. left in the car from whomever it was repoed from), and the prices are not usually anything you would call cheap.
Not worth it.

The best deals at repo are the newest models as there is minimal risk involved. Ofcourse you must hope your bid goes through.

I bid on a car there once. What I didn't like is that you place a written offer with deposit, but they seem to be able to get back to you whenever they please. Could be 1 day, could be 1-2 weeks. Their 'suggested' prices seem to be sort of high, given that you can't test drive the car, etc. I think its just a place where the banks try to get more for the car then they can at auction. If it doesn't sell sell there, it just goes to auction.

I agree that repodepot is a bit of a ripoff, and there's always risk associated with buying a car 'as-is'. That being said, you can sometimes snag a deal. Last year I put in an offer of 19000 for a 2004 530i, expecting that it would be laughed at. I didn't hear from them for nearly 2 months, and then I received a call informing me I could buy the car at that price if I wanted. Unfortunately, I already bought a car in the meantime, so who knows what happened in the end.
