Bed Frames with Slats?

I have been trying for months now to find a basic and decent double bed frame that doesn't require a boxspring. Ikea seems to be the only company that offers a lot of these and their cheapest is a thin wood frame for $110 before the price of slats. Does anyone know of any decent alternatives in the Ottawa area?

well you can go to home depot and get a good wood plank cut the proper size and 4 legs. shouln't be more than $50 for the wood and $10 for the legs.

Not a bad idea but my issue is transporting such a contraption to my house. Otherwise I would have bought a cheap used boxspring ages ago.
