I'm having some trouble finding a vacuum for my apartment. Normally I depend on Consumer Reports for this kinda stuff, but their vacuum reviews are just awful.
Want:
- stick vacuum, light, cordless, rechargable
- Bagless
- Some way to clean corners, like hose + attachment
I picked up a Dirt Devil Accucharge, but it takes forever to charge and only really lasts 5, maybe 10 minutes until it gets all slow. Also, it has no way to clean edges/corners, which is frustrating.
Prefer to spend <$125
EDIT: Bought an Electrolux Ergorapido, see below (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/recommend-me-vacuum-810740/#post9783774).

Get a "roomba", you don't need to do anything at all, just hit the "clean" button and it takes for all your vacuuming needs. even while you are a sleep.
I bet you they do just as good of a job than one of those stick vacuums , if not better.

For anyone else that stumbles onto this thread, I bought the Electrolux Ergorapido (http://www.amazon.com/Electrolux-EL1012A-Stick-Ergorapido-Cordless/dp/B0018QXQPQ/ref=pd_sim_k_1).
Bagless, cordless. It come pre-charged and can last 2-3 cleanings of my ~600sq ft apartment no problem. It's got a detachable hand vac that's awesome when you want to vacuum counters, windows, small spaces, etc. The body swivels fantastically and fits into everywhere. Two suction settings, I assume for bare floor/carpet. Brush/crevice attachments, charging dock, a filter with a spring that bounces the crud off. Did great on my laminate and my rug, and obliterated car hair from my canvas laptop bag.
It's pretty much the ultimate lazy apartment owner vacuum. I've been using it daily because it's so hassle free.
I paid $130 at Sears (GTA).

Would this item be okay for doing stairs?
I'm looking for a satnd in vacuum that'll handle our hardwood, tile and carpet (including stairs) until we dish out for a central vac unit.

I don't have stairs, but I imagine it would be great. It's really light weight and you can switch to hand vac for easy nook cleaning.
