So while shopping around for our first service A that's due in 1000 km I've come across many MB dealerships who charge less or more than the previous one. Has anyone in GTA gotten their full "Service A" done via a independent mechanic for a lower price than the one's below?

I know McNally has been mentioned in this board a few times, but will they be able to perform the entire service A or just an oil change?

I had a Service A done by McNally Auto. It was an oil-change, and an inspection done by Charlie (1 hour labour).

Would you mind sharing the cost? Did they reset it as well?

Also another question, do I just keep the receipts as proof of the services performed to keep the warranty valid? Thanks

Of course! Always keep all records for future proof if you want to avoid dispute

If I recall correctly it was around $170. Yes, they reset the service reminder. You can do it easily yourself (check owner's manual for procedure).

They also stamped my warranty booklet.

Thanks, we're really bad at keeping receipts but will have to make an effort for the car.

Thanks I will give McNally a call and book an appointment. If you dont mind me asking which year/model is ur MB? So I can see if that price will apply to our suv or not. Thanks again

He has a 2004 C230 Sport Sedan if he's the guy I think he is.

I have one of those as well as an 03 SL500 (and now he knows who I am )

The price of the A-Service on the SL is only a couple bucks more than the
C-class for me here in Ottawa. The B-Service on the other hand requires
an extra lube job for my butt >:( ...but I have a service advisor who cuts
me slack on the labour time

Thanks if he is correct have you been taking your car to McNally's only or a combination of McNally and a MB dealership for the past 5 years?

Wow, how did you know? You were very close--mine is not the Sports version (but same 1.8L 4 cylinder Kompressor engine).

To OP: I have had 1 Service A done by McNally while car was still under warranty (all others were done at a dealer), and an oil/filter change done outside of warranty. IMO, once your warranty is up, just pay for an oil/filter change for every Service A and B. I'm sure the mechanics can find stuff you need done like air filter changing without you asking ;)

Your service on the ML might be a bit more because I think it has a bigger oil capacity.

Ooops...had yours confused with another car but I gleaned it from the
userid (it's Mystery905 at the other site). Did you notice that AGR-1 here is
HotRodder at the other site?
