PC gamers will be too busy playing Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands, and the many other better titles out there to waste their time with this trash.

Also, why get a console for this game? It's on PC. It offers the same experience as consoles and that's what people are complaining about. They're used to a higher standard than this.

Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version?

Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

That is my point. They are a company making money. To many people are like we funded you we made you.. No the cash made them. They move to the cash if not they don't bother.

People think there is some type of written agreement they are going to bend backwards for pc users.

Its why I bought a PS3. It was time to move onto console gaming.

You're missing the point.. What PC gamers are saying is that without the option to include us, they can live without whatever innovations we are capable of producing. The anger shown towards IW only exists because of a passion for the title, which they themselves are tanking. We don't ask for much, all we ask is that they don't MAKE AN EFFORT TO EXCLUDE US. If IW doesn't want to support the idea of a community based around their titles, it will hurt them WAYYYY more then it will hurt us. Theres some petition floating around with over 200k signatures. Thats ~$10M in sales lost, assuming in a worst case that all those people boycott the game. It will hit IW eventually..

this reminds me of the days of HD-DVD vs Blu-ray..
The hd-dvd fans just couldn't let go of the fact that they were supporting a dying format.. they would fight tooth & nail to defend hd-dvd, knowing that it would lose in the end.
PC gamers should accept that consoles is where it's at, it's what developers are focusing on now. Get on board with consoles or accept the fact that not many developers are going to care what pc gamers want.

200K signatures is peanuts.. MW2 sales are expected to reach 14 million units in the first 2 months of release.. i would say 97% of that will be console sales.

Couldn't agree more, consoles are where its at, however knowing where the power button is on a box isn't going to spawn a new generation of coders. :|

I'll reiterate in-case you missed it..

Console players aren't doing very much to encourage innovation and these companies are just happier for it because it means they don't have to make the extra effort that it takes to make a polished game for the PC. The hardcore gamers are not shifting their priority from good graphics with good story and gameplay to online play with mediocre gameplay/graphics. Some games do shine and deliver the whole package but is still hampered by the controller scheme.

It's either a solitary experience on the PC or with friends on the living room floor.

Yep, which is ********, because IW first made Call of Duty for PC, and it was because of PC gamers buying their game and liking it that they have enough money to start a franchise off CoD. Now they're backstabbing PC gamers in the butt by basically saying "we dont need you anymore, go eff yourself"

It's companies like this that's causing our world to go deteriorate every day. All they care about is money, money, and more money. Expect the PC version to sell close to nothing, and then Activision will complain about piracy being the main reason, and then the next CoD game won't appear for PC at all, which is probably what they wanted in the first place.

Infinity Ward made a great game with call of duty 1. Absolutely epic and great for its time on the PC. Many pc gamers saw it was a good game and bought it. Same with cod2. Same with cod4. Its safe to say IW has high expectations since cod1 and has surpassed them everytime. Then cod6 announces no dedicated servers and HOLY #(&# IW SUCKS, petitions, boycotts, lets go buy BF:BC2 because they have an amazing track record?, um rant about how its the fault of console gamers, make fun of console gamers, it just continues.

IW did not sell out at all, the so called "loyal" pc fans all gave up on IW, and its people like that causing our world to deteriorate everyday..

Infinity Ward does not provide a product with the features nor of the quality that people want.
People do not buy game.

Done. Infinity Ward has not helped with their absolutely horrible PR either. PC GETS EXTRA FEATURES LIKE MOUSE CONTROL AND GRAPHICS SETTINGS! Really? Really?

DICE does have a great record and they have said they WILL provide the features people want so many people are choosing to go with Battlefield over Call of Duty.

Misleading title.

The game isn't even out yet...how can you experience the online play and comment about it?
People are jumping to conclusions...so what if it's not going to be as great as Cod4..I know I'm still going to give it a chance considering how well IW has done in the past.

It's true they've backstabbed loyal PC gamers...WE'RE the ones that made IW and CoD franchaise a success..but boycotting something that isn't even out yet is getting out of hand.

I'm not sure what hte article means by no lean? And the 5 second delay is fine with me, as long as they dont restart the entire round/match each time. I actually like 9v9..when it's 16v16 it becomes a cluster**** in smaller maps

ok so IW produces a bad game and people do not buy, but almost all pc gamers are jumping on the assumption that the game will suck based on dedicated servers alone. Isnt that kind of stupid without actually playing it. I mean obviously dedicated servers are better than one host, but give the game a shot before bashing it as being a horrid pc game.

You are entitled to your opinion and as a part pc gamer myself I feel your pain, but dont let the lack of dedicated servers be the only decision factor. The spec ops looks great as does the sp, and the multi player with all the new stuff looks ridiculously nice, and from a part 360 player I can tell you that the lag is nowhere as bad as pc gamers think it will be.

I'm a social gamer and if I don't have a server I can consistently go to and play with a regular group of people, who provide a good level of challenge (but not too hard), I don't want to play. I have my group of good servers with people who have good attitudes and work in teams. I always join those servers. I don't even play if I can't. This random matchmaking stuff turns me off. I might as well play with bots.

They could have easily fixed this by offering dedicated servers with a Quick Join button for ease of use. Of course, the ******** reasons they give about "ease of use" are a cover for the actual reason any company would want to do this: control.

They want to make sure that PC Players play their game with the maps they dictate, in the modes they put out. They want to be able to block you from playing ranked matches unless you pay for the maps. They don't want you to play usermade maps because they want to make you hungry for the next map pack that they will provide at a cost.

People are choosing to go with Battlefield because there are plenty of games out there that don't take out features they want. Battlefield has been one of the biggest shooters for a long time now and Bad Company 2 looks great. It offers a great game experience with the featureset that PC gamers expect from a high budget title. Why pick the inferior option?

Hmm Firestorm I think you're bang on. It's because they want to introduce damn DLC into the PC version of the game...like map packs...

Wow...PC gamers have been making custom maps for every single PC shooter up till now because the developers USED TO always provide a map editor or the like...

Yeah, looks like Bad Company 2 is where it's going to be at...

Couldn't have said it better. Battlefield 2 remains IMHO, one of the best, if not THE best FPS shooter out there. It's flexible and robust, and Dice's latest move to offer their in-house produced booster packs free of charge is pure genius. Between all the mods I've installed (map packs, POE, AIX, etc) I have probably close to 45 maps to choose from, of which only 20 or so are actually made by Dice. THAT... is the power of the community.

Regarding dedicated servers, I totally agree. There are several servers that I game on regularly and it's always a bonus to see familiar gamers on the field, not to mention all the match/scrim challenges my gaming clan gets. One more reason why this move by IW is set to nuke the community. They are holding back on one of the pillars that will make the game a successful title.

I liked 2142 but then I again I played BF2 so much. I will admit though Battlefield series is my fav and BC2 will be even better. I will go back to pc for BF3 maybe a good time for an upgrade then too.

They want this control. They will make sure there is no server browser and no way to run custom mods on user-run servers. They will retain full control so they can dictate the rules of play and monetize whatever they can. Do not expect anything else from Activision-published titles.
