Since we need to pay for EHF (EHF is not a tax), getting a 999 TV/Laptop will give you $200 discount on TV and $100 discount on Laptop (no filler required)
Look for other stores and find a lower price, then go back to FS for a pm. pm + coupon = even sweeter~

Got this in my email as well, If they put a good price on a 46"+ Regza this could be sweet.

Make sure you check FS first for Toshiba TV, appears the price there will be the same as with BB after the coupon. Might be best to PM first than use the coupon.

I doubt you can include the EHF in your final pricing. EHF is still a tax as it is collected on behave of the government. Of course you can argue with the salesperson.
Many of the Toshiba TV's are actually on sale until Thursday. I assume the coupon would stack with those discounts?

Ya i understand what you mean. I thought about that too.
Its because when I look at the receipt, GST and PST is applied after the EHF is added. EHF is not a percentage but a fixed fee depends on the item and province.
so EHF is taxable, then EHF itself is not a tax. Thats just my two cents.

Very doubtful and I expect BB to raise prices back to regular right before this promotion goes into effect - otherwise those 240Hz REGZA units would be flying out of the store.

-10% diff would be 1384-200$ 1184 for a 46" regza 120hz, is that decent?

Actually it very doubtful that they would raise a sale price during its sale period (those discounted Toshibas are for sale till 12th) the extra discounts are from 10th till 12th.
Also their price protection till January 3rd is in-effect, so every thing is well planed in advance, they already know that those items will be on sale during the extra discount period and they also know that those prices wont be lowered (or lowered within acceptable range) till January 3rd (at least not by FS / BB)

I doubt you can include the EHF in your final pricing. EHF is still a tax as it is collected on behave of the government.
Actually, in the case of Ontario (and likely the other provinces), it's a fee that must be paid by the manufacturer if he is in the province or whoever brings the goods into the province. It is only paid once at the point of origin and it's up to the wholesaler/retailer/supply chain to decide if and how they pass it on i.e. it is not mandated. It is thus part of the cost of the item and not a tax. If you later sell the item privately you can legitimately recover the EHF for yourself but you will probably have trouble justifying this one to the buyer.

Does anyone know if this counts toward price guarentee?
The reason I am asking is because I bought the 42 inch 19 days ago - that was on sale for 1299.99
According to the store policy, I have 30 days to return / exchange the TV (the 14 days does not list the TV).
On top of that I remember reading something about price protection up until January.
Now given I am still within my return period, I would assume it seems logical that I can just walk in to the store with a receipt and a print out of my own email and claim the 200 dollar credit? Because the coupon did specific lowest ticket price?
I know none of the store is open now, but I am off today, think it is worth a try?

meh, picked up the sd7200 for $10 at BB a couple of weeks ago.:D Cashed in an old broken VCR for $50 credit. I wanted to find a few more VCRs, but they changed the promotion a couple of hours later.
FYI, you can make it region free and it plays PAL as well.

Yes they should be able to do a PP. To be safe prepare printout of the shopping cart online that shows your item with the coupon applied.

i wonder if you can use the coupon twice like how people do it with other coupons (apply e-coupon for ISPU), then apply coupon again at checkout.
i dont know how they did it before was it was pizza pizza coupons?

FS has just taken $200 off the 52" Regza - now $1599
Any idea if PM can be used, making the BB price $1589 - $200 for the coupon = $1389?
Thanks.

Depends what is the price of the TV at the moment. If the price of the TV today is $1599.99 before coupon, then the price protection with the coupon would not work because the lowest price today that you can get the TV is $1399.99 after coupon. You can't expect them to give you an extra $200 off in that situation. However, as previously mentioned, who knows? Maybe you'll get lucky and get a CSR that doesn't care and does it for you without any problem.

Hey guys! I just wanted to report back that it is mission SUCCESS!!!!:D
I got the 200 dollar credit back, tax in and it was $226 dollar.
The TV now cost me with EHF at 1254.37.
I think this is a good deal given the TV was originally 1499.99 and is on sale for 1299.99. Now with another additional 200 dollar off.
Also I would like to point out, the coupon cannot be use twice, because the coupon was crossed out after I used it as price guarantee.
Hope this helps

I tried to use the coupon to make an online purchase of the 19" TV around midnight when this started, the discount would not work unless I chose "in-store pickup". So I did that, and just received an email that they could not fill the order. So now I try again, and even after 10 tries could not get to a checkout screen where the discount is applied. Very very frustrated...

Congrats and I actually thought about driving out there and trying the same thing, but I got a pretty crazy deal in the first place (42" 240Hz + 4 year PSP for just over $1100) that I didn't want to push my luck.

whats you guys think of the Samsung 46" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV** (LN46B610) (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0770HDS0010122283&catid=) compare to the Toshiba Regza 46" 1080p 120Hz LD HDTV** (46XV645U) (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0770HDS0010122883&catid=23524&logon=&langid=EN)
My friend just got the Samsung for $1400 at FS and was wondering if he should go with the Toshiba instead and save $365.

I picked up the Toshiba 46" Regza tonight. PM'd Future Shop and used the coupon.
BB price: 1,549.99
FS price: 1299.99
PM'd price: 1274.99
minus Toshiba coupon ($200) = $1074.99
Ontario EHP fee: 10.07
Total with taxes: $1226.12 :cheesygri

I went with my friend today to do that same thing and they wouldn't do it. The supervisor said you cannot combine two promotions. I told them it's not two promotions. One is a price match which is their policy and the other $200 off is a promotion. So YMMV on the PM and the $200 off.
Also what do you think of the TV. My friend bought it home still without the discount because it was still $100 cheaper than the Samsung 46B610.
He didn't like the picture quality when watching SD TV on the Toshiba. He said the Samsung was way better and sharper. So we planning to return the Toshiba and get the Samsung again after returning it today.
Also which BB did you do this at?

I brought this issue about "guarantee low price" with use of coupon up to best buy corporate when I was shopping for the Nikon D90. (Match Aden price then use of pizza pizza coupon).
This is what I was told. (Prices are estimates as I don't remember exact)
Best buy price is $1369 - $100 coupon = $1269
Aden = $1059
Then if bestbuy's price, after all of it's coupons are applied, is higher than competitor, then they will beat the price.
Essentially, Best buy will apply all coupons to their price first, to find out the lowest Besybuy price, then apply the price guarantee. This is the correct procedure as per head office.
With that said. I bought two 32" TV. One for the basement and one for the Bed room.
1st) In store pick up: $419.99 + $10.70 + taxes. When I went to the store, I handed them the $50 coupon and they applied it to the price. $369.99 + $10.07 + taxes = $429.47
2nd) Shipped: $469.00 TV + $31.99 Startrek pre order = $500.99. I was some how able to apply the $100 coupon so the TV was $376.55 (after pro rated discount). Now the strange thing was that at first there was a $10.07 TV tax, then I went to change payment method to put in a gift card then the $10.07 TV tax dissapeared! Anyways, the TV has shipped and my invoiced amount is $376.55 + tax = $425.50
I tried this coupon / online order trick again, but I couldn't get it to work again.
