I want to cover my outdoor ac ( central ac ) with an ac cover to prevent snow/ice/dirt from getting in during winter .

I checked both Home Depot & Canadian Tire both of them have them for around $ 25 .. I don't want to spend that much for a piece of plastic or vinyl to cover my AC .

Ofcourse I could make my own with shower curtains , garbage bags etc but I don't want to do that either .

Anywhere I can find an AC cover for around 10 bucks ?

A piece of plywood and a brick.

Most of these covers only trap moisture in the units and cause rust and more damage than they prevent.

An a/c unit is designed to be outside in the elements. A piece of plywood over the top will prevent leaves or icicles from falling into the unit and allow good airflow from the sides to prevent moisture being trapped inside.

So why don't you just put a piece of plywood over the top, with a brick to hold it down, so snow and ice don't get inside on the fan blades. It has worked for me for 20 years. Cost me nothing because I had the wood and a brick.

edit: Sorry Venice It, didn't mean to repeat, I posted the same time as you....great minds think alike? LOL
