this should be moved to the "cellphone" sub-forum.
I'll let it go this time ,but if it ever happens again, moderator action will be required. Who actually does the action, well thats another story.

Doesn't work for me either, area code 905.
As for trying various sites, make sure you're not unwittingly signing up for a "Premium Texting" subscription at $2.50-$5/incoming text EVEN if you have free incoming.

Completely legit. Use to use it years ago when I didn't have unlimited texting. My mom also uses it to text me haha.

If you know the recipient's carrier, you can use the carrier's website.

+1 I personally think this is safer... not to doubt you, applecheeks, just saying :)
However, I noticed some would charge a fee? Well, at least a couple years ago Fido charged 15c/msg (this was when it was free to receive texts). The work around to that was to go to Rogers site and text the Fido number; it worked and they didn't get charged.
I just text from my phone now, so I dunno.

This works but does it charge the receiver any premium fee if they have free incoming texts? I'm on Fido.

(As the sender setting it up with your email address, you have to wait 5-15min for the email validation code)
