I have a friend who is coming to BC for a visit. He has a full drivers license from ontario (i think its class 7) but he doesn't own a car or have auto insurance in ontario. Does anyone know if he will be able to drive my car here in BC or if I will have to make special arrangements with ICBC?

As long as someone is not living with you at the same address (which they judge by address on license I guess), you don't need to add them to your insurance as a secondary driver. So it should be OK.

They`ll be covered because you are already paying for the insurance

My niece is visiting from BC and our insurance company told us if she get's in an accident in our car she is covered BUT the accident will go on our record not hers.
You might want to give ICBC a call and ask them rather than relying on info from here just to make sure you get the correct info.
