With the meeting on Nov. 17th, the hike for the MDP goes into effect January. I think this warrants a special dedicated notice.

I don't get free checks, so I needed my info. You need to have your bank stamp your application. Which is so shizz.

Banking Information

You must include a cheque clearly marked "VOID" so we can debit your chequing account. Please note that line of credit or credit card cheques are not accepted. If you do not have a chequing account, you can use your savings account if you take your application to your bank and have your banking information completed and officially stamped by the bank representative.
We will debit your account at the first of every month.

When I signed up, they wouldn't accept it without a void cheque. I signed up in June, so I got 6 months left on my contract. I wonder if I can renew it now for 12 months... probably not, without paying the cancellation fee.

Why the hell would they ask for your DRIVER's Liscence number when this is an application for a PUBLIC TRANSIT pass. f-ing stupid.

I don't carry my liscense with me because i don't drive.

They know the spike in demand, if they didn't expect this then they would've kept the Nov. 17 meeting a secret until tomorrow. They are really nice and helpful at the MDP office. They know they are screwing us over.

Of course. You need the check or information stamped by the bank along with the application form as well.

If you sign up today, your first Metropass will be this December. After today, it's January. Also since the hike is not official, signing up on November 16th would be signing up for the current price and not the new price.

That's what I initially thought, so I selected to start in January, but was told that Jan-Dec 2010 would not be retroactive pricing. I bought a 50 roll of tokens for December but will now probably use them for December 2010 which will actually make them more worth it to use. January 2011, who knows what I'll do.

I believe it's because they don't have to process your request until after the meeting. So you don't have a contract with them yet.

Might be worth it if you bought a crap load before the 2007 increases. Shipping might make it not worth it.
