so now my snail mails being coming 6 hours late for the past 2 weeks now. wondering if its safe to go to the post office and complain without the carrier knowing it was you complaining?

I don't want then mad at me, since their bad enough as it is, already being later and later, and lots of times putting my packages in other peoples mailboxes.

Since when does Canada Post guarantee a specific delivery time each day?

There's a number in the phone book.

I believe Canada Post can deliver in the afternoon, so mail delivery times vary.

6 hours late? They likely changed the walk route the letter carrier takes. So now instead of first on the route, you are now last.

Mail gets there when it gets there ... what is your complaint going to be?

That you used to get mail at 9am and now you get it at 3pm? And this is an inconvenience to you because ............?

Don't waste your time with this 'complaint'.

However, on the other hand, if your mail is being misplaced in other boxes, and vice versa on regular basis, then that's a valid complaint.

I don't think that your mail can be considered late as the carrier may have changed his/her route and as long as it gets delivered each day, there is nothing to complain about.

That being said, not sure you want to complain about your carrier. I did that last year (on a whole different issue) and the carrier decided to "punish" me and made things even worse.

used to get here around 12:30, now it gets here around 6PM

well for awhile there, my mail got put in another box as well.

put in address stickers in the box seemed to fix that.

I know they don't guarantee a time but its annoying coming in late all the time now, makes me have to take my lazy self another specific trip to pick it up. Usually its there when I get home and can pick it up, now I have to waste time and make another trip later on.

guess you guys could be right not a real valid complained unless the mail starts getting misplaced again.

LOL, your carrier is working past 6pm at night to get all the mail delivered, and you're the one complaining? Most carriers start at 6:30 in the morning. You do the math.

If you're so concerned about making a second trip, there's an incredibly simple solution. Wait until the next day to pick it up. If you're so impatient that you can't wait that long, then you'd better find the energy to make the trip to the box.

Your complaint would be mute. You probably have a new carrier or he is doing his route a totally different way.

There will be a major restructuring of routes in the near future for Canada Post. Eventually most letter carriers will have a company vehicle and will be responsible for street letter box pick ups, parcel delivery and regular mail delivery.

Expect another post from OP in the future about how the new delivery route for his area makes it hard for him to collect his mail, how he can't be bothered to understand why such changes are possible, and inquiring (again) about whom he can direct his complaints to.

The OP is lucky...the letter carrier before our current one used to deliver the mail on our street only 1-2 times a week!!!!
The a** used to also deliver the canada post expresspost stickers on the door a few days after I had already picked the parcel up at the local postal outlet (I would follow the tracking number and it would always say "attempted delivery" which was BS)...

My old neighbour was a letter carrier...he was finished and watching tv by lunchtime...no lie!!!!

If they don't guarantee a time...how in your mind does 6pm equate to "late"?

Also..I pick up my mail...maybe once a week...why do you pick it up everyday?

Letter carriers have a certain amount of time to finish their routes, if they don't they can't just pack up and leave it for the next day.

Someone else said their routes change and that could be the cause of why you're getting the mail around 6pm.
