As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of BioWare games, and EA has just announced the existence of the Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition, presumably $79.99 for console owners, and $69.99 for PC owners. Comes with the standard affair (from the press release:))

Available on January 26 in North America (Jan 29 in EU) alongside the standard edition, the Collectors' Edition of Mass Effect 2 comes in a premium, tin case and includes the full version of the game, a 48-page hardcover "Art of Mass Effect 2" book, Issue 1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book, and a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes and making-of videos. In addition, the Mass Effect 2 Collectors' Edition will include unique in-game weapons and armor that can only be obtained by purchasing this version

My most anticipated game of 2010, no question!

Pre-order Bonuses!

GameStop/EB Games

Reserve Mass Effect 2 and receive GameStop exclusive Terminus Assault Armor and M-490 Blackstorm gun.

The Terminus Armor: Like all modern combat hard-suits, Terminus armor is environmentally sealed with an independent air supply for use in space and extreme planetary conditions, with an onboard “micro-frame” computer capable of running a suite of battle management software. To prevent detection by passive thermal sensors, body heat is channeled to the base of the feet, where it can be dispersed into the ground.
- Increases storm speed by 10%
- Increase shields +15%
- Increases all weapons reserve ammo by +1

M-490 Blackstorm: The Blackstorm encases a few particles of matter within a high-powered mass-increasing field, elevating them to near-infinite mass and creating a powerful localized gravity well that draws nearby enemies and objects into itself. The rapidly-increasing gravity near the event horizon of the singularity rips the objects apart.
Fires a singularity projectile that draws in nearby enemies, and then explosively hurls them away.
Can be charged up to create larger more powerful singularities.

Other Retailers:

The Inferno Armour: Used by officers to monitor battlefield conditions the suit is able to recognize elevated heart rates and pupil movement in people close by, almost acting like a lie detector. This same array also monitors the officer and regulates sub-systems with extreme efficiency to allow for greater response times.

-Negotiation Bonus 10%
-All Power Damage 10%
-Increase storm speed by 10%

Oh man, Assassin's Creed 2 LE, God of War 3 UE, and now this! At least it's a pretty good price compared to AC2's 90$ and God of War's 100$+.

The first one was very limited and I was lucky to get one.

I can no longer wait for this epic adventure!

Yeah I remember the CE for Mass Effect was quite rare, and is still rare to this day! I snagged a copy not too long ago for like $60 total, which isn't too bad! I'm not making the same mistake again with ME2, I'm buying that shiz on day one yo! Hey does anyone know how to imbed videos? I want to get a couple youtube videos on the gameplay/trailers/etc. to get people excited!

Too close to Bioshock 2 =( And I wasn't that big on what I've played of it (became more shooter-y than I would have liked). I think I'll pick it up after the crazy Q1 wave of games (Bioshock 2, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy XIII).

Oh you mean release-wise it's too close to BioShock 2? I thought you meant gameplay-wise...yeah BioShock 2 will be incredible, but I'm super pumped about how the story is going to unfold in ME2. I'm a Trekkie/Star Wars nerd, so the space combat and all that noise excites me :D

It's planned to be a trilogy, yeah. I don't imagine GoW3 will be as epic at ME2; I'm hoping ME2 to be a 30 hour space epic; GoW3 will be spectacular, but won't be longer than 15 hours I bet.
