I need to decide to go with 2007 4 cylinder camry or accord and was wondering what you guys think. I have difficulty deciding because:

1. accord seems to have better fuel economy rating
2. camry has better side collision safety rating

Can you tell me if there's bug fuel economy difference? if difference isnt big I'm leaning towards camry as I like 2007 model exterior design more than accords design

P.S. I get my ratings from safecar.org and fueleconomy.org

Have you test driven both cars? The handle differently so that might be the deal breaker for you.

Camry also has brake assist... and 0.1L/100km difference isn't much. Go with what you like.

Havo,

Good point, I'll definitely do that before I decide

ThePointblank,

are you sure the difference is that small? Where did you get the information?

P.S. one other thing guys, I'm not sure if Toyota has a 4 cylinder camry with manual transmission, does it? (I don't drive automatic)

1. On the automatic versions, that small. That's off the Natural Resources Canada website.

2. Toyota does produce a 4 cylinder Camry; its the Camry SE. Comes in both automatic and manual. Difference between it and the LE is that it adds a sport suspension, strut tower bar, front sport seats, eight-way power driver’s seat, rear bench seat with pass-through but no folding seatbacks, three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels, side skirts, rear spoiler, sport-style grille, chrome tailpipe and fog lamps. An optional SE C package adds power passenger seat, leather seats, garage door opener, power sunroof, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, self-dimming rearview mirror with compass, and with the automatic transmission, heated seats.

ThePointblank,

Thank you for all the info. Natural Resources Canada website is really nice, I'll use that from now on for fuel economy comparisons. Do you know if there is a similar Canadian government site with crash test results?

You only live once - don't worry about fuel ratings and buy yourself a real car... Too much Japanese plastics on the roads... Be original:)

Both are great cars but it comes down to driving preference. If you like a sporty firm ride where you feel more connected with the road, go Honda. If you do long highway runs and prefer a cushy ride in the city and highway, go for the Toyota.

Just my 2 cents
