This guy must have a lot of Dell 2709W's. Anyways, i purchased a Dell 2709W from this guy on October 27th which was to be shipped to my parents place in Ottawa because he claimed he was from Quebec City. Almost as soon as he received payment, he stopped replying to messages. When asked for the tracking number promised, he claimed he left it in his car and would give it to me the next day. Obviously nothing materialized. The payment was made to the following:
Brandon Pendleton
brandp141@gmail.com
Additional members of this board have been scammed by him recently, i will edit this post once they confirm that they would like to add their names and products purchased from this guy.
Anyways, i'm working with a couple of my legal/law enforcement friends right now in various areas. Much thanks to those who have been scammed by him in the past for information.

Yeah, i've been keeping them informed with what i was doing and them likewise. One of my lawyer friends wants me to take this guy to court just so that he can see what this guy looks like. Maybe i will if he doesn't call me. I wonder how this compares to being in a tax court arguing over tax planning strategies .

He also has a BST thread with iPhones and stuff in the Cell Phones & Accessories subforum.
Some people fell for his trick there too, despite my post in his thread warning people of him. Geez!

The guy has 2 positive feedback...from himself!
RFD rules state you can not have more than one duplicate account, so that's grounds for a perma-ban right there.

Me too. I am going to buy a phone off him as well. He has agreed to COD it to me last tuesday with a tracking #. Then, no reply after that. I suspect he is a scammer too, so I msged one of our moderator about this guy.
I haven't received anything yet. Even if I do, I just return ask Canada Post to return it to him.

If the mods actually did something, the scams would have been prevented... hate to say it, but even Hofo is more proactive in scam resolution now...

I think it's not fair to blame of the mods. It's like accusing BrandP as a scammer before he commited a crime.
There is more responsiblity in the buyer side. Sending money to a new member with feedbacks from another new member does not prove the creditibility of the seller. If you have be in RFD or Hofo for a while, you know new member need to ship their items first before paying it.
I almost make the mistake believing COD is a safe way. But it seems that a scammer can sent me an empty box.

To protect yourself, open the box and check the contents before you pay the courier or if they won't allow you to open the package on the spot you can have them leave it at the post office and go there to check the contents before you pay them, it works for me if I ask.

This guy tried to scam me on another forum, I'm pretty sure it's our friend "Edward Tanner" aka Nokiafanatic aka EriccsonFanatic aka Amourek. The MO was almost identical, he's ripped me off before. Saw he was doing the same thing on RFD. I reported this to the mods... buyer beware I guess.

Thanks for the advice. If I ever got the package from BrandP (over 1 week already) or deal with COD again, I will ask for sure.

Has JAC confirmed BrandP aka DF-Beyond-Devil are the same person?
I met him outside his apartment building last month. I also have an invoice with his name & address to confirm location & his appearance if required.
I have zero-tolerance for Scammers & those who waste my time.
EDIT: ben_liu says it's not DF-Beyond-Devil so we'll wait.

Okay, for DF-Beyond Devil's sale, he is NOT BrandP. He showed me the package that was Sent from Brandon P from Quebec when he received his video card. Get your facts straight and stop exposing personal information like that. Reason why Beyond-Devil doesn't reply or gives a **** about this thread is because he didn't scam anyone ... lol

We'll wait for updates before reaching a final decision. And ben_liu, before you risk your reputation for a stranger, previous Scammers have used alternate addresses & IDs across Ontario/Canada to lay basis for shipping scams. OP lost money on this trade...we'd help you if you were scammed.
DF-Beyond Devil was selling a similar Dell LCD in that price range. I was going to purchase his Dell 24" for $385 - that's a great price which is why it stuck in my head.
My deal with DF-Beyond Devil worked out because I picked up locally and I like him. It could be coincidence that both sellers offered similar items.

He is my close friend. I would obviously stick my head out for him. I appreciate where other RFDer would help me if I was scammed, but I can guarantee this is heading down the benson_wei lane once again.

Good enough for me, let's wait for OP & JAC's updates. We can always check a university registrar to confirm a student's attendance.

DF may or may not be BrandP, but he has enough sketchiness to add him to anyone's DNT list.

ben_liu also had duplicate accounts, under the name 'theCSbully'. I got the dupe axed, but who knows what he was up to. Anyhow, another one for my DNT list.

I don't want to get involved in this as I got my own reputation to worry about, so I'm falling back.
