no, typically each year you advance in university, the government expect you to be able to earn more in the summer than the previous year. so osap naturally gradually reduces.

and no workstudy does not affect osap

I've done it for 4 years of my undergrad + grad school

As an FYI, I believe disclosing the 3000ish in OT from work affected my OSAP by a whole $20 or so.

thats really great to hear,
I really want to work this year to gain experience , but at the same time keep the grant . But why is that you still need to report to OSAP about workstudy like regular work ? Also I see that they require you to keep a 60% course load, what happens if I want to drop courses and drop below 60% ?

You should let HR plus your financial office know.

you actually do not need to report Workstudy income. because, at least at Western, are financial need based. and are bursary in nature. so do not need to report to osap. they school would have reported on your behalf

doesn't the work study program only allow you to work around 10 hrs/week? That's how much I did when I was back at university... three 3-hr shifts/week but then I was working with the university's library and bumped it to 12-15hrs/week when i lowered my course load...

the work study program was applied AFTER OSAP was approved, so, unless you didn't mention income. having said that, there was no decrease to my OSAP...

Western undergrad is allocated 201 hours @ $9-10/hr for the whole year and does not matter how you do them

grad are allocated 101 hr per term and must be maximum 10hr/wk

So its not neccessary to report it ?
I got the offer in October which I was really excitd about . However I wasnt able to set up a payrol (my prof wanted to wait to the deadline which would be early November ? ) , so I didnt got paid yet for October . I was wondering when the deadline would be for setting up the payrol , arent workstudy supposed to be paid on a monthly basis ?

I keep getting reassessed I didn't get that much this year. BOO!

I got the short-end of the straw and the cross check with the CRA.

I did work-study last year and got screwed this year
