I'm not sure what bolt patten really mean, the pattern are only the measurements for the rim nothing to do with the tire right? the pattern for 2006 civic is 5X114.3mm and tires are 205/55/R16, I'm looking to buy a used set of rims/tires off a volvo which is bolt pattern 5x108mm with a center bore hole of 65mm 205/55/R16...

will these rims fit my car? if not I can put the tires are on my old rims right?

also what is the best way to check the tires condition other than the threads left? is there anyway to tell if the tires are "out of round"?

No, you can't use the 5x108mm rim for the Civic, the distance between the bolt holes are different. They don't fit on to the Civic.

108.0mm = 4.25"

114.3mm = 4.50"

You can use the tires only. When you balance the tires, the installer should be able to tell you if your tires are ok.

so even if the pattern is different, it does not effect the tires correct? meaning as long as the tires are same size, doesnt matter what size of bolt pattern the rims were?

Yes, a regular 16" tire will fit a 16" rim. The bolt pattern is car model specific only.
You need to mount that 16" tire on a Civic rim and have them balanced after installation.

is there any disadvantages performance wise driving with "out of round" tires? my tires with at least 60% threads left are making noises above 80km/hr and I was told by the dealer that other than the noise/vibration it is totally safe to drive with them, then less then 100km later tire blew, theres a 2inch hole on the sidewall of the left rear tire....

I'm thinking of buying two new winter tires should I put them on the front or back? and then put the two "out of round" tires on as well.

Are you kidding me, if you don't care about your own safety, how about the people sharing the road with you. Are you nuts?

Save more money and buy four new snow tires to put on your car, not two.
