I did a CarProof report on a vehicle a family friend wants to purchase from a curbsider (basically a mechanic shop that sells some used cars). The vehicle is priced about $3-4K lower than other vehicles with higher mileage. The carproof says it had a front end damage (Partial Loss) with a value of around $11,000 a few years ago. 2 years later, the vehicle has another claim on the passenger side which was of a similar value. Now, the car does have a dent on the side but it's definitely not 11K in damage. Is there any other way I can check for accidents on the car or get more details? I do not have access to the vehicle personally so I cannot check it carefully for replaced parts. My dad and his friend said the car drives very well though.

The dealer is going to give a UVIP but I don't think it shows accidents.

When you claim it through insurance they try to milk as much money as they can .. so 11K for partial loss makes scene. when my dad's car had accident, we took to mechanic and the first thing he asked is if you are going with insurance ( since it not at fault) then 4K if not 1500 !!! ..

Same thing with dentist, you go for small issue and if your covered with benefits then $300, if not $80
