Question for those Tivo users still using Simplicity

I know there are a few people that are still running simplicity with their tivos, and was wondering if anyone ever tried using a dual-tuner series 2 like the ones bestbuy is now selling? I understand that those cannot be modified for things like tivoweb or other hacks, but does the communication with simplicity still work, and if not does anyone know why not? It would seem to me that the slice format would have no reason to change so I'm curious if the handshaking had changed in the newer boxes.

I may just go grab one this week and test it out and return if it doesn't work as planned. If anyone else knows for sure, I'd love to hear some feedback. I'm not interested in a debate on simplicity ethics, only if it works with newer tivos.
