View Full Version : Quiet meeting places with very little people in Toronto - Yorkdale Area

I know in the summer its easier to just go to a park but it is not a good idea in the winter. I am meeting a cousin I haven't seen in a while this week and wanted to go somewhere in the yorkdale mall area of Toronto where we can talk somewhat privately, the mall itself is pretty packed so that is out of the question and this cousin has been sober from alcohol because of problems in the past, so a private bar is not an option and wouldn't be a good idea to bring someone sober to a bar.

Any opinions?

How about a library? Must be some little people there. ;) Closest is Barbara Frum, I think. I know, you aren't supposed to talk in a library, but a place as big as this one, you could probably find a quiet corner. No food or - more importantly - drinks allowed.

Your home?

It would be pretty sad if the thought hadn't crossed his mind so, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that's not an option. :|

A carnival has lots of people who are very little. As does a daycare. :cheesygri

LOL, I thought you mean "small" people :D

Bear in mind that voices travel far in a quiet place.
So the safest place to talk secret is in a busy and noisy area.
Unless your cousin is crying or screaming.

I was always amused when Tony Soprano would have "meetings" while walking around the mall or home depot.

Cemetery. Bring a flash light & don't scream if you step on something because they're just having sex.

OP stated that it's difficult to meet outside IN WINTER. And on a side note, there's a lot of poop hiding under leaves nowadays.

Your home?

Nope can't do that, family doesn't want to talk to this cousin because of lets just say family politics but I have no problems and want to talk. Coffee shops I don't like as there are people around, I was again thinking about just walking around yorkdale mall and it sort of makes sense because people are always moving around and they won't catch the whole message unless they are following you.

About the other suggestions...

MSN Messenger - cousin doesn't have computer.
Motel - to expensive and this is RFD.
Church? - I am probably going to hell, anyways not a good idea :(

Wow. You're really paranoid about people even possibly catching tiny snippets of your conversation aren't you?

Are you and your cousin terrorists? Is that why you can't talk in a public space? Is that why you have to be secretive?

I'm reporting this thread to the RCMP.

I am intersted in knowing this too

Where can I find a quiet place packed with midgets/dwarfs in the Toronto/Yorkdale area? That would be quite the spectacle

...(grammar police) I think you meant to say few people

You don't want to use your home, you don't want to use a public place, and you don't want to use the streets. You don't leave many options. Why not rent a room then?

Really? It's into double digit highs this week. Hardly difficult conditions.

This thread didn't turn out to well.

Yes my name is Jony Soprino me and my cousin Jony Blindetto are planning to meet to plan the selling of flower as cocaine and oregano as weed to a bunch of dumb criminals. The deal is really big, upwards of 5 billion dollars is on the line. Hopefully it won't be to late to get rid of the oregano and flower before the rcmp show up ;) :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

There's a bowling alley on Wilson west of Dufferin
It's been closed since the summer.

Playtime Bowl (http://www.playtimebowl.com/) is also nearby. But a bowling alley is not exactly a quiet place to meet

Try using flour instead, its much more convincing as cocaine than some roses.

Why don't you go to the mall right when it opens and go sit down at the food fair. Of course, it gets busy and nosy later, but no one's eating right when the mall opens.

You can chill in the underground parking lot under holt's, it's a little warmer, or that little staircase staircase that goes down there where the old HMV used to be left of the food court towards the TTC side, nobody uses that very much.
