View Full Version : Pho Fuzion, Mississauga

So I took Najibs' recommendation and went to Pho Fuzion in Mississauga at Mavis & Bristol.
Have been there twice now and it's certainly better than my old standard of Pho Mi 99, but this is because I have observed both price increases and quality drops there.
I had Fuzion's house special Pho Rice Noodle Soup as well as the "transparent noodles separated with seafood" soup. Both tasty, not weak. The rolls were typical size for rolls GTA pho places with middle-of-the-road pricing.
The only downside was that I wanted to try the "Vietnamese Triple Colour Drink (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/vietnamese-triple-colour-ice-drink-800566/)" and could only find one similarly-described drink on the menu. They said they weren't able to make it. (I guess they did not have the ingredients?) Oh well.
Anyone else been here? I will definitely be back.

pho fuzion is average in my eyes...they also lack selection...they probably only make the triple colour drink on weekends...
go to "pho dau bo" at creditview/bristol....and you won't be going anywhere else in mississauga for viet...
in mississauga, i now ONLY go to pho dau bo.

well, golden turtle is a no no for me...went probably twice and both times not that good...especially the nem nuong (pork balls)...they were pretty below average...
pho dau bo...for the pho, pretty good and well priced and doesn't feel like as much msg as others...the rice, nice layout and good quantity and the veggies actually look appetizing...the my tho noodles...comes with quail eggs...kinda different...

I think the difference is in the broth and the sauces that come with the rolls.
At Pho 99, it's lately tasted watered down IMO, especially the sauces. I thought they were really visibly watered down.

I've only compared pho noodles in all places. I can't compare bun and other rice dishes. I still find Golden Turtle the best in taste/value and choices etc.

I went to Fuzion twice shortly after it opened a few years ago. I wasn't impressed with the pho, although the mango shake was pretty good. They used the thicker style of noodles in the soup which I am not a fan of. I believe the Xe Lua places in Toronto and Markham do this as well.

That's because that's the northern style of pho. The owners are northern Vietnamese as indicated by their higher accent when they spoke.
Pho is from northern Vietnam with French influences I've learned so thus, the use of thicker noodles is authentic.
Tried this place yesterday for lunch, was quite good. The thicker noodles I wasn't used to either since the places I go to are often southern Vietnamese owned. I'll probably come back to try other stuff.
Fyi, it's more expensive than Pho 88 or Pho 99 or any other pho places in Mississauga.
It's $5.50 for a small at Pho Fuzion (same price elsewhere that's a large. At Pho 99 last I remembered small is $4.00, $5.00 for a medium and $5.50 for a large, $7 for an Xe Lua/Extra Large)
Pho Fuzion is $6.50 for a medium and $7.50 for a large.

I learned something new today. Thanks!

I personally don't like Pho Fuzion as their broth is quite bland. It might be the lack of MSG or whatever but I prefer a broth that is a bit more in flavour. It was like I was drinking water. I have no idea why anyone would go there for pho but each to their own. My favourite places to go is Golden Turtle at Central Parkway and Confederation and Pho Mi 99 at Dixe/Dundas.
There is a Pho Huang opening up and it was a pretty good place in Toronto. I have to see if they live up to the standard.

Thanks.
That's a little far from my place.
I was not impressed with Golden Turtle the last 2 times I went, but maybe I will give them another chance.

The pho is good there and so is the rice.
Yep, corner of dixie and dundas though I am not sure how much business they will get. They have name power but that corridor from Hurontario to Dixie, there are about 8 pho places to eat and only 3 are worth eating at.
Thanks.

I was also disappointed the last time I was at Golden Turtle, which was last weekend. The beef in the pho was very fatty and there was a layer of oil on top. MY gf usually eats what she gets, but this time it was just too much and had to send it back.
Pho Fuzion is nice. I was not impressed the first time I went a few years ago, but have been back many times and I like it. One time I ordered the special bowl and I asked if it was supposed to have beef balls in it, which it didnt and it wasnt supposed to, but the owner came back with a small bowl for me. Very nice!

It's funny to read this review because my cousin's family that I don't talk to much owns this pho rest.
HONEST REVIEW!
I went to it when it first opened, because my uncle told me to go support them. I had the 3 type of meat dish on rice, and it was meh, pretty greasy. I wouldn't go back. Dear god I hope they don't read this.
You must hate your cousins, because if you liked them, even if you didn't think it was good, you wouldn't be posting it for the world to see. I've never eaten there, can't recommend it, I prefer Tien Thanh downtown (Ossington & Queen) & Bun Pho Phu Hai (Vaughan Mills mall plaza)

Well people, Pho Huang is opening on Nov. 17 so there is a new place to try out.
Located near Dixie and Dundas. If people know the Mississauga area, it is across from CT.

I drove by it and they said Grand Opening Nov 17 on the banner. If that doesn't tell you when it opens, I do not know what will. I will try to aim for dinner.

Just came back from Pho Hung (new one on dundas), I Personally like the Pho Dau Bo on Bristol Road and Creditview rd. or the one 1 block down on dundas from pho hung compare to this one, but was still good for the pho. I haven't tried the rice, maybe tomorrow. for the soup, i'd say 7.5/10.
The things I like was that their service was fast, polite and that the place look very good and neat.
It was kinda hard to get the waiter's attention for a bill or other needs but the place was packed, so I would understand.

Personally this place reminded me of pho fuzion. The soup base was similar. For me, might be my acquired taste for MSG, I cannot stand bland soup. Their noodles were also more soggy then other places.
This is one place off my list. Still Golden Turtle and Pho 99 on Dixie are the go to places for me.
I do agree their place was nice but a little packed on the main floor. No idea how the second floor was. You sit too close to people and I feel sorry for the waitress having to navigate through that mess. Especially on a busy day.
Surprising they are closed on Tuesdays.

I went to Pho Dau Bo today and quite liked it. Very good balance of price, quality, variety, service, etc.
