calluses

after the stereo boxset, the mono boxset, the beatles rockband, and rockband album DLC, you'd think that it's over...
then there is also the 'box of vision' for $100. i hear that the remastered material will also be reissued on vinyl. and now the latest product to milk the remaining cash out of beatles fans:

this is, of course, not just a blank 16GB usb stick. the stereo albums will be included in FLAC 44.1 Khz 24 bit and MP3 320 Kbps formats.
how is this different from ripping the music off the stereo remastered cds into FLAC? i don't know... according to their description, the FLAC will be in 24-bit, and i believe the music from CD is in 16-bit, so perhaps these will be superior in sound quality?? anyone (audiophiles) with the technical knowledge care to chime in?
not a hot deal, i'll admit, but this whole limited edition thing is magical. we've all seen how the market reacted to the mono boxsets. i've placed my pre-order.
edit:
amazon.ca has it for $263 CDN

so that's $43 more than the stereo boxset, but you get this 16GB USB novelty and potentially better sound quality than the cds...as the FLACs are 24-bit (not sure whether the difference can be easily picked up by our ears though). one important note is that this will be a read-only USB.
