Hi, does anyone know off the top of their head, or have a list of, some commonly used programs that don't work well with hyper-threading technology? Specifically on P4 2.8ghz if that helps.

I'm going to buy a machine like this and read that some programs actually experience a worse performance due to HT, but could not find a list of any kind.

Thanks

Hyperthreading is originaly a intel marketing hype for a 1/2 clock data executable string there cpu's could do. So there basicaly like a 1 & a 1/2 or a "Fake" thread per cpu cycle. Thats why when the Athlon64 X2's came out then stomped all over the P4 cpu's cause they had 2 "true" hardware threads vs intels 1 & a 1/2 ones even intels dual core P4's where no match for the Athlon64 X2's also besides there insainely hot tempratures.
