Hi,

So I'm looking to join a gym. Preferably 24/7, but if not, as close to 24/7 as possible. I'm in North York (Bathurst and Sheppard area) but I'm willing to travel. North York, Vaughan, Maple, Richmond Hill, Markham, Thornhill, Toronto (not too far south - Eglinton is probably my limit), even Mississauga (not too far west). If it's 24/7, a good deal and not ridiculously far, I'm willing to travel it. Closer is obviously better, but especially if it's not 24/7 (traffic, etc.).

Any halfway decent gym seems to be at least $50.00 / month (usually more than that once you factor in all of their contractual crap). I remember a couple of years ago people were talking about $30 / month gym memberships. What gives? I feel like I've looked everywhere and that I'm going to end up paying too much, and I hate that feeling.

Oh, and I don't have any corporate hookup for Goodlife or anything like that.

Thanks. Please help soon!!

Look into premier fitness, it's a decent gym... I pay about 24.00 per month my husband pays 35.00 per month, it was a "get a discount on the second membership" type of deal when we signed up years ago. We're in scarborough, but I'm sure they have other locations all over the GTA.

24 hours? Yeah, I wish. The only 24 hour one I ever encountered was a goodlife at Vic park/Lawrence east, way too pricey. Believe me, I've looked for a 24 hour gym as I was training for a competition, couldn't find one.

I, personally never had any issues BUT I do admit if you're there for clean working facilities then this is not the place for you. The washrooms are poorly kept and maintained, I never would use the shower there. However, all the machines work, BUT if you want a clean bench you do have to clean it yourself.

So you are saying other than the fact that the place is dirty,un hygienic and laden with germs,it is OK.
Do they have a clinic, just in case you need a shot.

Yuck.
