Not really like shoulder straps so got one to try, not a bad intro offer.

I saw this on Engadget, looks quite cool... kinda pricey though but I can see some good advantages though... faster then keeping my camera in my bag and it's less tiring having my camera in my hand at all times even with a handstrap although I would never crawl through the bushes with my camera holstered that way!

That does look interesting. Would be pretty handy for a second body when shooting sports or weddings and being able to have it ready on your hip.
I use really long shoulder straps to get the camera to sit sort of like that, but this seems like a much more elegant solution.. can you buy 'em in stores so you can play with it first?

What happens when your pants are hanging down at your knees with the weight of two cameras?

They just started selling them publicly yesterday so I don't think they have the distribution yet for store selves.

Cotton Carrier for me.
I found that it's much more versatile in terms of carrying one body or two. Using just waist holster or chest holster to carry one body. Or use them both for 2 bodies.
There is no way I'd take the spider on to trails or safari the way it's advertised, but I feel really comfortable hiking with the Cotton Carrier.
Depends on your needs.
Dual R, Cotton or Spider...I'd suggest everyone try it out if possible before purchasing. Just like bags, there is no perfect solution and each has their pros and cons depending on the type of photography you are doing.
If anyone is the in the Richmond Hill area and wants to check out the Cotton Carrier, let me know. I'll bring it out one day to a RFD meet if we ever do it during a time that I'm available....

Seems like a neat invention but not that great.
Problem with it is that theres no "security" when you are using it off the holster.
you take some photos and someone rams into you? There goes your camera.

That's why I like the cotton carrier, it'll only come out of holster when positioned the right way. The direction is user set so I can have it only at 90 degrees or 45 degrees depending on my shooting style...

I think it has a lock, pic taken from engadget. (http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/13/spider-camera-holster-review-stick-em-up/)

I think legendofxix meant when someone is holding the camera off the holster by hand. For that, I plan to still have my waist trap on the camera for that reason when free handling the camera.
