Am I able to transfer a retentions contract. I called fido and they said yes but then the person who takes over the line must choose a different plan. This what I have I do not think it really matters but I will post anyways

200mins
e/w @ 7
unlimited incoming
f2f
2500 text
Call Display
enhanced voicemail
no 911 or SAF

25 + tax ending April 2011

6 gb plan for $30 ending August 2012

so $55 plus tax

So is it possible for me to transfer this line to someone else without them having to change to a basic plan. If so how would I go about doing it so that I speak to someone who knows what they are talking about.

P.S. If you curious as to why I want to switch plans, its because I want to got bell because I work at the airport and they are the only ones with reception there.

The only part that you *must* change is any plan that is associated to an 'employee code' or 'company code'.

If you work for City of Ottawa., and that plan is for that corporation., then the person taking it over must add their own employee code to see what plan they would be eligible for.

PLEASE NOTE: The part that you must change is ONLY the 200mins part., that and whatever else is part of the 'employer plan'.

That sorta thing.

All that other stuff you have (F2F, 6Gb) isn't in contention and can remain.

Regards,

That is the *official* standpoint. What some reps will do however is try to assert the shockingly immense amount of power, and make up their own rules by suggesting that this 'special plan' that you have isn't eligible for the new person who takes over your line. Thing is, it's really luck of the draw. Some reps will look at that plan and think nothing of it-even going to suggest offering you more credits...THEN you will get another rep (like the one you got) who'll say it can't be transferred lol.
