What do you think about renting out your old textbooks?

I either keep the ones I think I'll need later (calculus, programming text books) or sell it right after the exam.

I do lend it to a friend for a term if they need it but I dont really charge them for it. It could be useful between friends but if its to a strangers whats stopping them from never returning it to you?

You won't make much profit from renting out textbooks

Where I went to school, most books (the edition) changed every 1-2 years. While some profs were nice and provided page numbers and questions for past editions, some didn't (usually the profs who have author credits in their own course's book).
