Not my month..., following my Future Shop incident from that other Thread.
I'm simply trying to furnish my vacant house with good deals...
This is what happened.. i'm trying to buy this table set:

Sat 2009-10-24 - Found this A.S.R Store, got this table for $700 tax and delivery included. We were happy. Paid $200 deposit.
Mon 2009-10-26 - A.S.R. sales rep called me, saying that the product got discontinued, asked me if I go there to find something else. I told him I will on the weekend, as i live 40 minutes driving away.
Sat 2009-10-31 (Halloween) -
I was there with my Fiancée, her sister and my younger female cousin (3 girls and me). We couldn't find anything that interested us, so we asked for our deposit back, as it is their fault to not be able to deliver what they sold us.
The Chinese sales guy grinned, slightly giggled and said: "that's not gonna be easy, my boss (Indian) is tough, maybe you should talk to him".
I'm Chinese btw, not that it matters...
I knew this was not gonna be good. A big 6-foot Indian guy came out. (seems like he was just the younger brother of the boss). He said "Sorry, we don't refund money here, there's no such policy. Find something that you like, and you'll get your deposited credited."
I'm like wth?? So we started arguing. I kept saying:
"look, it's your fault, you took my money, and can't give me what I want, so you should give my money back"
Plus it's not like I didn't try to offer him a favor there. I sat there for more than 15 minutes looking at the catalogs, but there was nothing that interested us.
He kept saying he understands, but there's no such policy etc... and how this is not like buying pizza, they don't give out money like that.
At one point, I said that "you're basically stealing money from me", and he said "yes i am".
WTH!!! But he probably said that because he was in arguing mode, normally vendors would never say that.
We argued for a good few minutes, and he even mentioned we could go to court. This got me even more worried, it felt like he's so experienced for doing this to customers.
Later he said he's gonna talk to the manager, that is only in monday to friday, so i should come back on weekdays. Come on, i need to work! Not to mention that I live far away, you can't make me travel like that. Just give me my damn money back now.
Plus he really was a manager too based on the Chinese sales guy. So we kept arguing...
My girls were kinda scared on the side as we were not doing this in a very civilized manner.
The girls were asking the Chinese sales to talk for us, but the Chinese guy said while laughing "i want to get out of this", and went away.
Finally, the big guy had to deal with another live customer.
I stood next to his customer and stared at the big guy. I guess he got my point, that I'm a persistent one.
After another minute, he finally gave up and planned to return me the money. He was at the debit machine, and took him 20 minutes, because he never did a return before i bet. Finally, one of my girls who knows how to operate that debit machine well, did it for him.
And we left.
If it's not because of this new house, i'd never think that such way of business still exists in Canada, GTA.
And can any of you tell me.. what would you do if you were in this situation?
Sue? There's cost involve for this right?
I wouldnt know what to do if he really wasn't gonna pay me back. I'd be bugging them all day... but it was near closing..
