I overtightened the screws on my rear tail light. The screws are actually part of the sealed tail light assembly. Soooo I cannot just remove the screw and put in a new one. The screw broke off so I decided to cut it off with a tool so it was completely flat than got a screw # of the threads and size from around the house and cut that and jb welded it. It doesn't seem to be sticking to the screw itself as I have left it overnight and it didn't appear to stick to the bolt. What can I do other than buying a new tail light which I don't want to do?

Drill it out and/or use some kind of "easy out" out or "super out" type tool. Usually these require you to drill a bit into the centre of the snapped off bolt (easier said than done) and then hammer in the insert and turn, or something similar.

CT has damaged screw removers (actually on sale this week) but I'm not sure how well those work with broken off screw heads (though they also sell similar "easy out" bits for broken ones I think).

You would find a left-hand drill bit of use, though you won't find one easily (trust me). You'll have to go online to get one. A left-hand drill bit turns "in" with the drill in reverse so you have a double action going on in that case--the drill spins anti-clockwise so it may also uncrew the broken off bolt in the process of drilling into it or drilling it out.

I just need a simple fix. Um, the screw is part of the tail light assembly which is sealed.
So the screw looks like this

SO the top part is the actual threads itself. The bottom part is the thing that goes into the sealed part of the headlight. And headlights are sealed with sealant so I cannot remove that screw nor do I believe I can ever find a replacement.
