There is also the Canon S90 (28mm), which I believe will be released in a few days in Canada. This a high-end compact with full manual control, bigger sensor, better lens, etc. Futureshop has it on pre-order for $529.

It's a bit bigger, but still "pocketable."

The S90 has been released already. Saw it yesterday at Aden for $519.

I like this more than the SD980 since the SD980 has a widescreen LCD which gives you the black borders when you're shooting pictures.

I personally like the S90 and would go for that. It's not everday they come out with a Camera with aperture of 2.0. If you're in the market for a Wide angle camera, the Ricoh ones are top notch, just the design might not appeal to everyone, but gets the job done and done well.

this is a sweet deal. ive been looking for this camera and was going to buy it from staples last week when it was $330 plus i have a $25 off coupon.

$229 is cheapest by far. 7$ shipping for me.

only 3 blacks left when i bought it, many silvers.

Picked up a S90 from Aden - $484...in store price. So far so good...but I am coming from a Coolpix S6 it's a step up.
